This relaxing day cruise offers the perfect balance of sightseeing, swimming, and time to unwind at sea. Full Description
The Day Cruise Experience – Step by Step
Boarding & Departure
From 9:30 am, we welcome you aboard Romantika at Mandraki Port. Our crew will assist you in settling comfortably on one of the available decks, selected according to availability and preferences. Take a moment to relax, meet your crew, and prepare for a full day at sea.
At 10:00 am, we depart Mandraki Old Port and begin cruising along the east coastline of Rhodes. Shortly after departure, you will enjoy panoramic views of important landmarks, including St. Nicholas Fortress, the Medieval Old Town, the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Fontana Grande, and Rams Rock.
First Stop – Kalithea Bay
Our first swimming stop is Kalithea Springs, home to the famous Kalithea Springs — a unique seaside monument combining natural beauty, architecture, and history.
We remain anchored here for approximately one hour, giving you ample time to swim, snorkel, dive, take photos, or simply relax on deck while enjoying music and light aperitifs.
Second Stop – Afandou & Traganou Caves
A traditional three-horn signal from the Captain marks our departure as we continue south, passing Faliraki and cruising toward Afandou. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the coastline while the crew serves snacks, wine, and aperitifs.
Our next stop is Afandou Beach, a long stretch of coastline featuring the Traganou Caves. Once again, you will have around one hour to swim, walk along the beach, explore the caves, or jump into the sea from the boat’s various deck levels.
During this stop, our onboard chef prepares a freshly made lunch buffet, using high-quality local ingredients.
Lunch Onboard
After the signal to return on board, lunch is served. Enjoy traditional Greek recipes and signature dishes, accompanied by selected wines from local Rhodes wineries, ice-cold beer, soft drinks, or juices.
Final Stop – Anthony Quinn Bay
For the final part of the cruise, we sail past impressive rock formations leading to Anthony Quinn Bay, named after the famous actor who fell in love with the area while filming The Guns of Navarone.
We anchor here for approximately one hour, allowing time to swim, enjoy water activities, relax on the decks, and finish the day with dessert and our signature cocktails made with traditional Greek spirits such as ouzo and mastiha. Depending on the atmosphere, the experience may include music, dancing, or even learning a few steps of the famous Greek Zorba dance.
Return to Mandraki Port
After a full day of swimming, sightseeing, good food, and relaxed moments at sea — and perhaps a few new friendships — we begin our return journey to Mandraki Port, bringing the cruise to a smooth and enjoyable close.
Important Information
- Arrival Time: Please be at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before departure.
- Punctuality: Arrive on time, allowing extra time for transportation delays, especially during the high season.
- Dress Code: Wear comfortable shoes and bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, and a light jacket for early spring or late autumn trips.
- Health & Safety: Please inform the crew in advance of any allergies, medical conditions, special requirements, or if you are unable to swim.
- Sun Protection: Apply sunscreen regularly to protect yourself from sun exposure.
- Respect the Environment: Follow crew instructions and avoid littering to help preserve the marine environment.
- Swimming to Shore: At certain stops, guests may need to swim from the anchored boat to the shore.
- Alcohol Consumption: Please drink responsibly to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
- Sea Conditions: The east coast is generally calm; however, guests prone to seasickness should inform the crew in advance and avoid heavy meals and excessive fluids before the cruise.
